Uncle Tetsu has now officially landed in Sydney, at 501 George Street to be exact.

But with queues rumoured to be equal to the soup nazi in Seinfeld, is it worth queuing up for? Well, if you love cake and have a soft spot for cheese, then you should make your way there ASAP.

The cheesecake has been made in Japan since 1985.

Uncle Tetsu first began his cheesecake journey some 26 years ago in his home of Fukuoka, Japan and has since expanded to China and Canada where there is a cult following.

But why? Those who have had the privilege of nabbing a cheesecake have described it as a delicious experience that is somewhere between a cheesecake and sponge.

The demand is so high in fact, that there is a one cheesecake per person limit.

And according to Mr Tetsu, Australia is the best location for his new store.  “I have many shops but I think this is the best location in the world. Because I dreamt to have my shop in Australia 42 years ago, it’s my dream come true,” he said.

So with that being said, Uncle Tetsu’s is here to stay.

PSA: the store is cash only, so make sure you come prepared.
