Two hip-hop heavyweights from Compton have been brought together by DJ Critical Hype, who’s linked Dre’s beats with Kendricks lyrical acrobatics to dope effect.

The result – the aptly named The Damn. Chronic – sounds like these two were separated at birth, and hit us with a little nostalgia while we wait for Dre’s long-fabled Detox. (Seriously, how long does that shit take? My uncle detoxed in three weeks – although, he’s now acting more fucked than ever.)

Speaking of the drop, DJ Critical Hype said he “was determined to make it work, but the truth is, it wasn’t easy … I had to dig deep and make a capellas for about 60 to 70 songs and try and find stuff I was happy with”.

We sure glad he did.

This should keep us happy till Cardi B drops Invasion of Privacy this month.
