The CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2 are Pioneer DJ’s flagship pieces of gear for professional DJs.

Abloh’s designs for them are transparent, with no colour or visible branding, and gives you an inside look to all the mechanism and cables; they’re appropriately called the ‘skeleton’ models. The stripped back design makes for a dope colour show when the lighting schematics are turned on in the dark.

Abloh first teased the gear on his Instagram back in April before DJing with it at Coachella. On explaining his choices for his designs, Abloh said:

“I aimed to design a see-through and non-labeled rendition of the classic models to inspire a different sound while DJing—and perhaps a new way for music technology and human interaction to equal a different result.”

The one-off pieces are only made for Abloh, and the only way to see them is at his upcoming museum exhibition. “FIGURES OF SPEECH” will be running at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art from June 10 to September 22.
