Earlier last year we had Rihanna straight out refusing to perform at the NFL Super Bowl halftime show due to the unjust events surrounding Colin Kaepernick, as well as others like Amy Schumer boycotting the event altogether.

But now, we have official word that Travis Scott, Big Boi and Maroon 5 have been enlisted to perform at one of the biggest TV events in the United States.

As reports state, Travis Scott only agreed to perform on the terms that the NFL stand by Scott in donating to a cause for social justice. Travis along with the NFL made a $500,000 USD donation to Dream Corps, and have also joined together with the NFL to work on additional initiatives.

“I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in, I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.” Travis states.

To make the show just a shit-tonne more exciting, the video posted Maroon 5’s Twitter account includes a quick cameo of SpongeBob SquarePants at around 0:32, because apparently one million people signed a petition to see SpongeBob headline this year’s Super Bowl. The more you know.

Now, we await the big day and all the memes that will come with it.
