After a long-awaited arrival by anime fans around the world, the first full-length trailer for 7 Seeds has finally arrived to grace our screens and prepare us for an oncoming Netflix binge.

7 Seeds was initially a manga series by the same name, created by Yumi Tamura, and has never before been adapted into anime form in its 18-year history; the survival-drama manga was released on monthly terms chapter by chapter, running from 2001 to 2017.

As described by Netflix, the story will follow a group of astronomers who foresee an Earth-headed meteorite that will most likely destroy every living thing on the planet.

Luckily, they decide to make a plan to carry on the human race by cryogenically preserving 7 young men and women (hence the title) to awaken when the world is void and continue mankind. No pressure.

Although the series was originally slated to release in April of this year, Netflix has officially announced that the first instalment of 7 Seeds is set to hit our screens on June 28, 2019.

There’s no word yet on the run time or number of episodes, but drawing from most anime predecessors, there will probably be 10-13 episodes, each running for roughly 25 minutes.

Check out the first trailer below and cancel your day plans for the drop date.

There’s no cryogenic preservation needed to live in the future with Kid Cudi and Aaron Paul. Check out Season 3 of Westworld, here.
