Rapper/singer-songwriter, M.I.A., has been in the spotlight for years after bursting into the British music scene.

Besides teaching us that bad girls do it well and letting us know that all she wants to do is take our money, M.I.A. has become not just a renowned artist, but also a human rights activist and overall badass.

Titled MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.Athe biographical documentary follows her life in the limelight as an international sensation.

The film, directed by her college friend Stephen Loveridge, holds the deep details of going from a child living in Sri Lanka to being on high demand from popular artists and concert halls alike.

The doco is set to hit U.K. and U.S. theatres between September 21 and 28, 2018.
