Back in December, photographer Robbie Augspurger and stylist Lotta Volkova teamed up to produce Balenciaga’s SS18 preview, emphasising a trend towards “dadcore” aesthetics. Items teased included oversized, boxy coats, Triple S Trainers, metallic grey puffers, wide-legged denim jeans and pastel parkers.
A flow-on effect from the recent normcore phenom, Demna Gvasalia wrote a few noes in his diary explaining the inspiration for SS18: “Young dads in the park with their kids”.
