If you are anything like me, you wouldn’t be foreign to the weekly cycle of spending most of your pay check on fresh fruit and veggies but ending up eating out every night.

Some people call it irresponsible, I call it an art.

Yet for those poor souls who haven’t perfected the art of scavenging around the city for dinners that won’t break your budget (thank you Sydney property market for making us all poor), I have compiled your Monday to Friday $1 meal plan.

Monday :: $1 Gyoza :: Goros

Sourced from Food Diary Sydney

Like a dumpling but with a fancier name. Goros on Mary Street house some of the best snacks that will transport you to Japan, especially if you have enough sake. $1 Gyoza will keep you well feed all night long, while getting rid of all that pesky pocket change.

Tuesday :: $1 hotdogs :: Soda Factory

Soda Factory’s hotdogs range from $1-2, and is hands down one of the best finds in Sydney. Hidden behind the iconic steal doors,  the venue is bustling with live music on Tuesday with tables filled with gourmet hot dogs that range from meat filled to veggie to even a dessert kind.

Hotdawg range ::

The Johnny Drama
Beef Frankfurter, Bacon, Sour Cream, Avocado & Tomato Salsa

The Buffalo Bill
Crispy Chicken Sausage, Spicy Buffalo Sauce & Cheese

The Al Capone

Wednesday :: $1 dumplings :: Crane Bar

Dumplings make up 90% of Sydneysiders diet*.  Meaning a Wednesday night at Crane Bar is filled to the brim with adults trying to avoid cooking dinner. Could you blame them with the combo of a live DJ playing from 6pm, dumplings for $1 and drink specials though?

*Totally bullshit fact, but it seems pretty accurate in our eyes.

W&W // Wednesday // 32 Bayswater Rd, Potts Point 2011 //

Thursday :: $1 oysters :: Bellevue Hotel

A Sydney delicacy normally only reserved for the double bay, double pay kinda guys. Yet Bellevue Hotel make our seafood dreams available on the cheap every Thursday. The $1 oysters are available from 6-8pm, best teamed with their $6 champers.

W&W // Thursday // 159 Hargrave St, Paddington 2021 //

Friday :: $1 wings :: Bavarian Bier Cafe

Not only do they have killer craft beer that you can buy in the litre, but they have the best saucy wings for only $1 a pop.  With three house made sauces to choose from including the mild BBQ, classic buffalo and spicy diablo, weekday feeds don’t get much better then this.

W&W // Monday to Friday // Bondi Beach, Chatswood, Moore Park,  Chatswood //

Now, go eat.
