When: September 12 – 15, 2019

Where: Carriageworks, Eveleigh

Coming off the back of a record-breaking AU$21 million in secured artwork sales, the annual Sydney Contemporary Art Fair is back for its 5th year. Here to showcase some of the best visual arts, there’ll be over 95 galleries representing over 450 artists from around the world.

A large contingency of Japanese galleries will be present at the fair, including the likes of Whitestone Gallery (Tokyo, Taipei, Nagano, Hong Kong), who will present work from polka dot queen Yayoi Kusama, COHJU Contemporary Art (Kyoto) and newcomers LOKO Gallery (Tokyo) and MA2 Gallery (Tokyo).

You’ll be able to see curated artworks from African galleries, including Salon Ninety-One (South Africa), and The Project Space (South Africa), which focuses on promoting female African artists. The fair will also exhibit artists from Ghana, Mozambique and Swaziland.

It wouldn’t be a Sydney contemporary art fair without some local talent. You can see art pieces from Adelaide’s Pierre Mukeba on display, courtesy of Greenaway Art Gallery.
