The first weekend of Coachella 2019 is done and dusted, just like the outfits of everyone who headed to the Californian desert to see their favs. From Childish Gambino, to The 1975 and Anderson .Paak, this year gave us major FOMO and had us considering setting a Google flight alert to LA. But, we’re also glad we’re not living in the awkward moments that every Coachella inevitably has.

In case you haven’t been up to date, we’ve rounded up the most cringeworthy moments from this year’s Coachella.

Solange had to cancel her set due to production issues

One of the most anticipated artists, Solange, had to pull out of performing last weekend, with no thanks to “major production delays” according to Coachella. The announcement was made on Sunday night, adding that Solange “sends her sincerest apologies, and looks forward to performing Coachella in the future.” With no Knowles performing this year, fans were not happy about it.

Kacey Musgraves didn’t get the ‘haw’ to her ‘yee’

Coachella is really embracing the yeehaw life after the Walmart Yodelling Kid stole the show last year. Grammy award winning country pop artist Kacey Musgraves tried to get the crowd to say ‘haw’ after she yee’d, but looks like the crowd had some trouble following a call-and-response.

Jordyn Woods made a surprise cameo at Jaden Smith’s set…and also ran into Kendall Jenner

Jordyn Woods jumped on stage when, in typical Jaden Smith fashion, a Tesla was lowered while he was performing. Hot off the alleged end of her friendship with Kylie Jenner, she was hanging out with Jaden at a private estate when the sister of her former BFF Kendall showed up. They did what any of us would do when you see someone you don’t want to at a function: pretend they’re not there.

Nicki Minaj’s mic got cut during her performance with Ariana Grande

With Beyonce’s pyramid stage on festival grounds and a behind-the-scenes Netflix doco looming, Ariana had some pretty big shoes to fill after Beychella 2018. Now, we’ll admit Ari isn’t on the same level (yet) but she still pulled out some surprises.

She brought out NSYNC (minus Justin Timberlake) and frequent collaborator Nicki Minaj for a killer headline set…except for when you couldn’t hear Nicki rap her verse on Bang Bang. We reckon the tech and sound guys deserve some credit, for without them messing up we wouldn’t have this.

The technical difficulties didn’t stop there…Vince Staples’ mic also went out during Billie Eilish’s set

For her debut at Coachella, Billie Eilish brought out Vince Staples to the stage. Maybe the tech guys have something against rappers this year, because Vince got a faulty mic too. He seemed to be taking it all right though based on this tweet.

We’ve still got one more weekend of Coachella 2019, with the second weekend running April 19 – 21. Let’s hope it runs more smoothly, and if it doesn’t then at least we have more to laugh at.
