Gamers rejoice! Atari, the video game pioneer behind classic titles like Pong, Asteroids and RollerCoaster Tycoon, plans to launch the first of its video game themed hotel chain.

Atari Hotels promises “a unique lodging experience combining the iconic brand with a one-of-a-kind video game themed destination.” Hotel entertainment includes fully immersive experiences, for both casual or expert gamers, including the latest in virtual and augmented reality. Some venues will also feature venues to host esports events.

The hotels will look like typical high-rise buildings, except for the glowing red strips of light that run down the side of the building in the shape of Atari’s logo. Room decor will range from retro to futuristic. Think Steven Spielberg’s Ready, Player One (2018).

There’s no better place to stay up all night losing sleep to play video games.

The first Atari hotel will be constructed in Phoenix and will be open in about two years; followed by Austin, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle. For more info, head to Atari Hotels’ website. If you can’t wait that long, there’s probably a gaming hotel somewhere in Japan…

If you’ve got a bit of spending money and want to stay somewhere truly boujee, check into the luxury hotel owned by LVMH, the conglomerate that’s home to Louis Vuitton, Dior and Rihanna’s Fenty.
