The Weeknd returned from his hiatus last to bless us with two hot new singles, “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights”.
Now he’s released the music video for “Heartless”, directed by Anton Tammi. The song was produced by Metro Boomin, Illangelo, and The Weeknd. The video shows the Canadian artist on a trippy, drug-fueled bender through downtown Las Vegas. Stumbling out of a car into a casino, Abel indulges in gambling, drinking and smoking, before licking a toad and going on a bad trip as the night gets fuzzier.
Abel also teamed up with Mercedes-Benz, as his track “Blinding Lights” was used in their latest commercial, where he served as the creative director. With two new songs out, we can expect to hear an announcement of a new album, following his 2018 EP, My Dear Melancholy (2018).
For 24 hours, you can get yourself some limited edition merch on The Weeknd’s online shop. For all you vinyl collectors, there’s 7″ vinyl that features “Heartless” on one side, and “Blinding Lights” on the other. You can take your pick from four different variations of covers, and they come in either a black or gold disc. Alternatively, you could also get yourself a CD or t-shirt.
